Workout Meditation

Meditation is exactly what you want it to be. It is a state of consciousness.

Meditation is exactly what you want it to be. It could be a deep breath. A walk outside. Or even day dreaming. It is a state of consciousness. Of being. And in many cases, not being.

It is a practice that can be used to train attention and awareness and a mentally clear and calm state.

There are numerous studies showing the benefits of meditation that include reducing stress, enhancing self awareness, and lengthening attention span.

I’ve practiced meditation for many years now. I’ve used apps like Headspace and Waking Up. I’ve been guided by Tony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Joe Dispenza and many others.

I utilize different ones depending upon my mood and energy levels, morning or night, and current state of mind.

One of my favorites right now is the 6 Phase Meditation with Vishen Lakhiani.

This particular mediation provides great vision for me across each of the phases. The more I can “see” something, the more I can “feel” something. And of course, vice versa.

Through the entire 20 minute meditation, Love is a key ingredient.

I picture Love in this blue hue, enveloping my body and spreading all around me. Sharing it with myself and all forms of life around me, including my plant.

Gratitude is another powerful piece of this meditation. I envision what I’m grateful for regarding recent personal events, things that have happened at FunkFit and Cycle Ave., my surroundings, and also my personal strengths and abilities.

Love and Gratitude guide the entire mediation which sets me up for a beautiful day with a beautiful mindset.

The 6 phases that make this such a powerful meditation are:

  1. Connection to a sense of oneness
  2. Expressing Gratitude and feeling it vibrate throughout your body
  3. Forgiveness toward somebody you may have been in conflict with
  4. Visualizing your perfect future
  5. Setting your Daily Intention
  6. Asking for Blessing from a higher power

Upon completing this specific meditation, I feel energized and focused on my day ahead.

Remember, this is just one form of many meditations. There is no right or wrong. You don’t have to sit cross legged with your arms out to your sides. You can practice meditation anywhere, at any time.

What’s most important is you taking the time for yourself to be. To breathe.

And to simply stop for what might only be a few seconds and express gratitude for that which is around you.
